About Us
The Public Risk Management Association is North America's largest risk management association dedicated solely to the practice of risk management in the public sector.
Founded in 1988, North Carolina’s Public Risk Management Association (NCPRIMA) has been serving public sector risk management and safety professionals statewide. We offer education, training, professional development, mentorships, scholarship support, and networking opportunities for our members through quarterly meetings and an annual conference.
Our membership includes town/city/county governments, public utilities, local school districts, community colleges, housing authorities, and various risk control and risk financing sponsors who administer risk management, safety, and insurance for local and state government entities.
Our Mission
The North Carolina chapter’s mission is to increase the proficiency of management of risk, insurance, and benefits in government and other public entities through education and networking, and to act in a manner that will further the best interests of governments (federal, state, county, municipal, tribal), governmental agencies, schools, and other special districts in their risk management activities.
Our Goal
NCPRIMA’s goal is to advance the risk management profession by equipping risk professionals with essential tools, education, and networking avenues to help members build a strong foundation, develop internal policies to minimize the risk of losses and strengthen public organizational risk management programs.
